How the export of Danish piglets works
NV-Randers A/S has exported Danish pigs to all of Europe since 1965. Here is the whole journey from the farmer's stable to the customer — step by step.
From Danish stable to European customer
Agreement and specification
We agree on the number, weight class (piglets 7 or 30 kg) and delivery day. For 30 kg pigs, the expected weight is typically between 25 and 35 kg. We can deliver large and small batches with repeat deliveries — including any quantity from a single CHR no.
Documented health status
We require either SPF-SuS registration or another documented health status for all pigs. Our own IT system records the herds' health status and vaccination plans, so the trade is transparent.
Collection with our own trucks and regular hauliers
The pigs are collected with our own purpose-built trucks or by regular hauliers we work with. NV-Randers A/S is DANISH-approved as a transporter, and all trucks are washed and disinfected after every unloading.
Weighing at the export stable
All trucks are weighed on our electronic weighbridge when entering and leaving. The weighing is recorded electronically and attached to the settlement.
Sorting in our own export stable
In the export stable at Viborgvej 316 in Randers, the pigs are placed in separate stable sections according to health status — 4 sections with room for approx. 600 piglets each and 2 sections for high-health-status pigs.
Veterinary inspection
A veterinarian from the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration inspects and approves all pigs in the export stable before they are sent on.
International transport documents
We prepare all international transport documents, so the pigs can cross borders legally and with full traceability.
Delivery in Europe
For international transports with intermediate stops, we use only EU-approved control posts with veterinary supervision. Our trucks can be followed with GPS tracking all the way to the customer.
Precise specifications give the best sale
If the batch stays within what was agreed, we secure the best sale. Underweight pigs (around 20 kg) require longer fattening at the buyer, and overweight pigs (around 40 kg) can trigger export sanctions.
Therefore: complete documentation forms correctly, and maintain ongoing contact with us regarding your herd's specifications.
